The Office of the Vice President launched the Libreng Sakay free bus ride program to provide transportation assistance to commuters in several cities. Context: After the pandemic, many commuters struggled with rising transportation costs and limited public transport availability. Execution: The program deployed buses operating in: - Metro Manila - Naic, Cavite - Cebu - Bacolod - Davao - Tacloban The buses provide free rides for workers, students, and other commuters. Impact: - Over 3 million passengers served nationwide since the program started. - Expanded routes and additional hours were later introduced to accommodate more commuters.
